SUNWAY’s Solar Mounting Strut Channel Roll Forming Machine produces steel strut channels used to mount, support and connect photovoltaic structures. The line combines coil handling, leveling, servo feeding, punching, roll forming and cut-to-length production to manufacture channels according to your profile drawing and hole pattern.

The machine processes hot-rolled steel, cold-rolled steel, hot-dip galvanized sheet and pre-galvanized steel. Material thickness is typically 1.5–3.0 mm, depending on the steel grade, profile geometry and selected machine configuration. Solid and slotted channels can be specified to suit the mounting system.

Available profile sizes include 41×21, 41×41, 41×52, 41×62, 41×72 and 41×82 mm. Channel dimensions, inward lips, teeth and punching patterns are designed around the customer’s drawings. The illustration below shows example sections; tooling and size change requirements are confirmed for each project.

Production Line

The production process follows this sequence:

Hydraulic decoiler → leveling and servo feeding → punching → strip buffer → roll forming → servo tracking cutting → output and stacking.

Two punching arrangements are available: a press machine or an individual hydraulic punching unit. The feed system, punching tools and cutting equipment are selected according to material thickness, hole layout and production requirements.

Optional Back-To-Back Welding System

For double-channel production, the line can be equipped with automatic conveying, profile pairing and resistance spot welding. This system joins two formed channels back to back and reduces manual handling between forming and welding. The welding arrangement is specified to match the required finished profile.

Machine Details

Decoiling, Leveling And Feeding

A hydraulic decoiler supplies the steel strip to the line. An optional two-in-one decoiler and leveler works with servo feeding to prepare the strip for punching.

Punching System

The line can use an individual hydraulic punching station or a press machine. Hole shapes, slot lengths and punching positions are customized to the channel drawing.

Roll Forming Structure

The main roll former uses cast-iron forming stands with gearbox drive. A chain drive arrangement is also available. The number of forming stations depends on the section geometry, material and application.

Cutting System

Servo tracking saw cutting cuts the formed channel while the line continues running. Servo tracking hydraulic cutting and a stop-to-cut hydraulic arrangement can also be specified to suit the profile and production process.

Yes. SUNWAY designs the forming tooling around the required channel sections, including the 41 mm profile family listed above. Send all required drawings so the tooling, changeover method and machine configuration can be confirmed together.

Can The Hole Pattern And Cutting Length Be Customized?

Yes. Punching tools and feeding controls are specified for the required holes, slots and spacing. Cutting equipment is selected to suit the channel section, finished length and production process.

Can Back-To-Back Channel Welding Be Integrated?

Yes. Automatic conveying, profile pairing and resistance spot welding are available as an optional system for back-to-back channel assemblies. Include the welded section drawing when requesting a proposal.
